I live in a private housing society which has a very strong and active “residents’ welfare committee.” Every now and then, usually on Sundays, the members of this committee come up with some or the other stupid competition like cake baking, chocolate making, painting, dancing and so on, to keep the residents entertained and amused. The good thing is this that they are optional, so depending on one’s talent, a person can decide which competition to take part in. However, the number of people participating in these competitions is somewhat less, as most of us keep busy during the week and therefore, like to relax on weekends. The committee was not happy with this and decided to do something about it Incense.
Everyone used to complain that they didn’t have time, were too busy or had other commitments to avoid these competitions, so the committee came up with something that no one could evade. They announced a competition in which the award would be given to the “Best House.” Now, no one could say that they didn’t want to participate in this as this was a general competition which required no special skills or extra time. Whether we are working or not, keeping our house clean, tidy and beautiful is something we all do on a regular basis. Hence, there was no escaping this time.
The competition was to be held on the coming Sunday and with only five days left in between, every one geared up and started extra cleaning of their homes. So did I. Although my house generally stays neat and clean, I wanted to do something special to make it appear totally wonderful. I wouldn’t say I absolutely wanted to win the award, but I wouldn’t have mind. There were several people whose homes were better than mine but there was no harm in giving it a good try.
I thought and thought and thought and them it came to me. I knew exactly what to do to make my home appear extra special than the others. I had just the thing to make it stand out. Want to know what it was – it was a wonderful home fragrance product called the reed diffuser. I had purchased a couple of them a few weeks back but hadn’t got a chance to use them. This, I thought, was the perfect chance. In fact, it was the chance I had been waiting for as I had wanted to use my reed diffusers on a special occasion. And what could be more special than this – a “Best House Award.”
So, on the day of the competition, after all the cleaning and tiding up had been done, I put up a reed diffuser in each of the rooms and twoin the drawing dining room, one in each corner as it is quite big. It hardly took a couple of minutes as using a reed diffuser is really simple. All you have to do is pour the wonderfully fragrant essential oil into the bottle, insert the reeds into it and flip them once so that whole reeds are soaked in the oil. That’s it!! It is done – as easy as that.
